Our infusion suites offer a safe and convenient alternative to hospital- and clinic-based infusion settings to receive specialty infusion or injection therapy. In our suites, patients receive high-quality care from our skilled Nurses and Clinical Pharmacists in a comfortable, clean environment. Coram’s experienced clinicians work with chronic and complex therapies every day. They are on-site to ensure that our patients receive safe and consistent care.

Getting Started

My doctor ordered infusion therapy for me. Now what?

Now that your physician has referred you to a Coram Infusion Suite, you probably have many questions. We hope this information will answer most of them; if not, our staff is always available by phone or fax. After your decision for infusion is made, the following referral process begins:

  • The physician notifies the office staff to schedule your infusion therapy with your Coram Infusion Suite. They will give Coram your clinical and insurance information, including a copy of your insurance card.
  • Coram verifies insurance benefits and eligibility, and will contact you to schedule an appointment and to review possible financial obligations, co-pays, deductibles or any other out of pocket expenses. Payment plans or medication assistance programs may be available.
  • The insurance verification process usually takes three business days to complete. Occasionally, there are times when the insurance company will require more information prior to approval, which can extend the approval process up to 30 days or more.
  • Coram will make every effort to keep you updated on the status of your approval process. If you have any questions, please call us at 800.423.1411 to be connected directly to your local Coram branch.

Before your first infusion:

Pre-screening tests may be required for some drugs before your first infusion. If necessary, your infusion suite nurse will contact you for further consultation.

Do I need to bring anything?

  • Drink plenty of fluids prior to arrival. Fluids fill the veins and make venous access easier. You may want to eat prior to arrival since the infusion may take several hours.
  • Our infusion suites feature movies and periodicals and Wi-Fi in select locations.
  • Please bring a clear copy of your insurance card.

How will my physician learn about my response to the infusion?

The infusion suite nurse will communicate clinical outcomes to your physician after each infusion.
